It helps in identifying the product’s source, as part of certification that the product possesses certain qualities, is are made according to traditional methods or to its geographical origin. Geographical Indication (GI) can be used for any type of product manufactured, agricultural, food, or even handicrafts. Kerala is regarded as a treasure trove of unique geographical indication.
