01 December Border Security Force Day Special Cover

Border Security Force (BSF) was raised on 01 Dec 1965 in the wake of 1965 War. It a Central Armed Police Force entrusted with guarding India’s land borders during peace and preventing transnational crime. It is the World’s largest Border Guarding Force. It has also been termed as First Line of Defence of Indian territories. its motto is “Duty unto Death”.

It is the only Central Armed Force in India having its own Artillery, Air Wing, Water Wing & Camel Contingents.

Gallantry Awards – One Mahavir Chakra, 13 Vir Chakra, Four Kirti Chakra & 13 Shaurya Chakra.

It Has also been awarded 7 Padma Shri, 1 Dronacharya Award, 17 Arjuna Awards and 2 National Adventure Awards.

Our respectful homage to ALL the Martyrs of BSF who laid down their lives for the Nation.
