Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML)

Kochi the queen of the Arabian Sea and the commercial hub of Kerala is one of the 100 cities in India selected to be developed under Smart Cities Mission (SCM) launched on 25th June 2015 withy the objective to promote cities that provide core infrastructure, clean and sustainable environment and give a decent quality of life to their citizens through the application of ‘smart solutions’.

Cochin Smart Mission Limited (CSML) is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed in March 2016 by Government of Kerala to plan, design, implement, coordinate and monitor projects such as Smart Roads, Smart LED Lighting, Market redevelopment, Solar Energy, Integrated Control Communication Center and Development of Open Spaces in Kochi.

Cochin Smart Mission Limited aims to achieve its vision of transforming a pilot area in Kochi Corporation into an inclusive, safe, accessible, and vibrant area of opportunities by improving civic infrastructure with the application of smart solutions thereby improving access to city amenities, clean ans sustainable environment and livelihood promotion.  The models created and implemented in pilot area are meant to be replicated in other parts of the city and serve as a lighthouse for other aspiring cities in Kerala.

The special cover issued to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Independence and to celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav program features a colour collage of Gandhiji, People fighting for freedom and the CMSL logo. The cover also carries the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav log. The special pictorial cancellation is a line graphic sketch of the SMSL logo  and issued on 06-10-2021 (KL/20/2021).
