The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled a ₹500 commemorative coin and postage stamps as part of the celebration for the 500th Birth Anniversary of Rani Durgavati in the presence of Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangubhai C. Patel, and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan on 05th October 2023. This momentous occasion coincided with the laying of the foundation stone for the Rani Durgavati memorial in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the entire nation is enthusiastically celebrating the 500th birth anniversary of Veerangana Rani Durgavati. During the conclusion of the Rani Durgavati Gaurav Yatra, the Prime Minister announced that he had called for the national-level celebration of her Jayanti, and today’s gathering embodies that spirit. He stated, “We have gathered here to honor the legacy of our ancestors in India.” The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt best wishes to the entire tribal society, the people of Madhya Pradesh, and the 1.4 billion citizens of the country on the momentous occasion of the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati.
