Janja Garnbret – First Woman Gold Medallist in Sport Climbing -Slovenia 2021. There aren’t many heroes who dare announce an assault on the summit before the Olympic Games and then go ahead and conquer it. But that’s the sort of competitor that Janja Garnbret is. In a word – fearless! Though only 22 years old, she had already won seven medals at past World Championships, including six golds, and had long been waiting for her sport to be included in the Olympics – which it finally was in Tokyo. Her achievement begins a new page in the history of sport climbing, on which she has written her name as the first woman in the world to win an Olympic gold medal in this discipline. A 1.33 Euro stamp was issued on 15 Oct 2021.
