Hongkong Post issued new Covid-19 postage stamp on December 29, 2020, on the theme “Together, We Fight the Virus” on December 29.
One of the stamp sheetlets is to recognise the unsung heroes across the community and express gratitude for their support to Hong Kong’s anti-epidemic efforts. The other one depicts the heroes from mainland to assist Hong Kong in carrying out universal community testing and working day and night to complete nucleic acids detection in the “Huo-Yan” Air lab by using the MGISP-960 High-throughput Automated Sample Preparation System.
One of the stamp sheetlets portrays the unsung heroes who strive to ensure the provision of essential services while fighting against the disease alongside Hong Kong people. They include the healthcare professionals, research personnel, ambulancemen, uniformed group members taking care of quarantine centres, postmen and workers engaging in cleaning and disinfection work.
The other one depicts that the heroes from mainland assist Hong Kong in carrying out universal community testing using the MGISP-960 High-throughput Automated Sample Preparation System.
During the early outbreak, many countries were facing a serious challenge of improving the daily capacity of nucleic acid detection. MGI is committed to innovating and upgrading its packages for the epidemic and providing strong tool support for the prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic. One person can operate three MGISP-960 at the same time. MGISP-960 is truly a walk-away system, which can process samples in batches and complete 96 samples within one hour without extra manual intervention after the sample is put on the machine. It can greatly accelerate the speed of large-scale sample detection.
According to Jiang Hui, COO of MGI, “the MGISP-960, equipped in the car, makes high throughput in small space possible and improves the efficiency of nucleic acid extraction and detection. “The equipment has been operated in many “Huo-Yan” labs around the world, and over 1000 MGISP-960 have been delivered to more than 50 countries and regions.”.
