The first butterfly park in the country came up in Bangalore in 2006. Situated in Bannerghatta, this Butterfly Park, the first of its kind in India was set up in November 2006 in Bannerghatta. The mission of the Butterfly is to foster an appreciation and other invertebrates while educating the public about the need for conversation of threatened habitats around the world.
