The first international postage stamps of Bhutan issued in 1962

First Postage stamp was issued by Bhutan post in the year 1962. A set of 7 stamps were issued. Those stamps were printed in security printing press Nasik in India .Two of those are with images of Postal runner of Bhutan ,Two are with images of Archer [Archery is the national games in Bhutan] Two are with images of YAK . Another stamp is with map of Bhutan and portrait of Druk Gyalpo [ Dragon King]Ugyen Wangchuck [1867 – 1902] and Paro Dzong [ Fortress – monastery].In the map the political and geographical status of the region was shown . In the map Sikkim has been shown as an independent country.
