The U.K.- Royal Mail has unveiled the 24 finalists in its Heroes Stamp Design Competition, honouring the heroes who helped other people during the pandemic.

Students from nearly 7,500 schools across the United Kingdom submitted more than 600,000 entries, securing a Guinness World Records title for the largest stamp design competition. The finalists, who come from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, were judged by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson; the family of Captain Sir Tom Moore, including his daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore and grandchildren Benjie and Georgia; Baroness Floella Benjamin; and Royal Mail CEO Simon Thompson.

Prince Charles, the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, is now tasked with choosing the final eight designs. He will announce the winners by the end of February. Charles has also chaired judging panels for the Royal Mail’s past stamp design competitions.
