St. Albert’s college (Autonomous) is a liberal arts educational institution situated in the heart of Kochi City. It is functioning under the management of Archdiocese of Verapoly and is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

The college began functioning on 16th July 1946 and owes its origin to the foresight and sagacity of its founder patron the most revered Dr. Joseph Attipetty, the first Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Verapoly.  St. Albert’s college (Autonomous) is a forerunner in the field of Higher education and ensures high eves of academic learning-research and holistic integral development.  With 30 Undergraduate Programmes, 15 Postgraduate Programmes, 1 Integrated Postgraduate Programme in Statistics and 10 Research Centres leading to PhD, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous) is indeed a front-runner in the field of higher education.

Other than the traditional Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes, St Albert’s College also offers unique and distinctive Masters Programmes in Space Science Technology, Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture, as well as 14 Vocational Programmes like B. Voc. Commercial Aquaculture, B. Voc. Medical and Psychiatric Social work, B. Voc. Fitness Management and Training, B. Voc. Journalism and Mass Communication, B. Voc., Travel and Tourism to name a few, which focus on employability, entrepreneurship, and skill development.

In 2016, the University Grants Commission (UGC) conferred the “Autonomous” status to the institution and in 2020 it was ranked among the best 100 educational institutes in India by NIRF. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the College at the “A” level with an aggregate score of 3.24. The college celebrated its Platinum Jubilee on 16th July 2021.
